A lifetime of care begins with sanctuary.
Beaver Pond Equine Sanctuary exists to provide humane, lifelong care for horses, donkeys, and other equines in need. Too many equines are abandoned, neglected, or surrendered each year due to rising care costs, aging or ill owners, or a lack of understanding about the long-term commitment equine ownership requires. Traditional animal shelters are rarely equipped to help, leaving a critical gap that sanctuaries like ours are built to fill.
Rooted in responsible land stewardship and compassion, our sanctuary offers safety, rehabilitation, and dignity to animals with nowhere else to turn. We are committed to serving our regional community through hands-on care, education, and sustainable practices that support both animal welfare and the surrounding environment. At Beaver Pond, every equine is given the time, space, and respect they deserve.
Founded in 2024, BPES provides a stable, well-managed environment where horses, donkeys, and minis can receive safety, dignity, and consistent long-term care.
While we are working to finish our new 32-acre permanent home, we partner with local farms through our Host Farm arrangement, allowing us to responsibly expand capacity while maintaining high standards of care and oversight.
Beyond direct care, we are launching a variety of initiatives in 2026 to focusing on education and community engagement, including collaboration with agricultural programs, veterinary professionals, and other equine welfare organizations, to promote humane treatment and best practices. BPES is supported by the Tom and Jennifer Hahn Foundation, which provides funding, governance support, and long-term strategic stewardship to ensure a sustainable, mission-first approach.
